Aeronix Receives 2008 World Class Team Supplier Award
In June of 2008, Aeronix delivered a technically robust product within budget and on time to support a critical need for the F-35 (Joint Strike Fighter). The VMF Waveform is a SCA-compatible waveform application housed in the CNI rack developed by Northrop Grumman. The VMF waveform implements a MIL-STD-188-220D data link with MIL-STD-2045-47001D Segmentation and Reassembly (S/R) support for the JSF.It provides the transport mechanism by which MIL-STD-6017 VMF messages can be sent to and from tactical entities on the network. One of the primary roles of VMF on the battlefield is the Digital Close Air Support (CAS) mission, where Forward Air Controller’s (FACs) direct munitions from war-fighters (such as JSF) to ground-based targets. Aeronix’ selection to receive a World Class Team Supplier Award puts it in the top one-tenth of one percent of suppliers to Northrop Grumman, corporate-wide.
In addition, prior to receiving the World Class Supplier Award. Aeronix Received the Northrop Grumman sector-level Supplier’s Excellence Award from Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Sector. The sector-level Supplier’s Excellence Award is given by each of Northrop Grumman’s four sectors. Mission Systems worked with over 4,000 suppliers last year, and of those suppliers, Aeronix was one of only 14 to receive a Supplier’s Excellence Award, and in order to do so, had to be nominated by Program Management at Mission Systems, and then selected out of all the nominations sector-wide.
Founded in 1985, Aeronix is a small business, employee-owned systems engineering and custom electronics development company specializing in architecture, requirements definition, development, and validation of various electrical engineering applications including control, communications, data acquisition, information processing for military and commercial customers.
